Maldramina Janet Polanco, raised in the upper West Side of Manhattan. A self-taught artist who now feels that I reached the stepping stone through my work and share my dreams and my hopes with those who come to view my work. At the age of eight, I began to doodle, sketch and paint, not realizing that today it would lead me.
I initially began my artistic process from a dark aspects of life: When this emotion is transmitted onto the canvas or paper I view a realization that life, an innate source of light, in any aspect in life, is always present - a vibrant life of force that cannot be suppressed.
My drawings and my paintings/graphics gives me the freedom no other medium can provide. Art is the medium that best portrays my joys, fears, and concerns. When I complete a painting I feel as if I has shared a part of my world with everyone., a world where I dare to explore the darker, mystical, unexplored aspects of our psyche and bring these to light, transforming this emotion to one of hope, joy and general fun. I strives to inspire those who come to view my work with the intent to create a more esthetic and profound new world.
